The 2012 Lombardini Cup once again proved to be the most important event of the regatta season in the Mediterranean region. The circuit conceived by Lombardini Marine includes eight of the most important offshore sail boating events in Italy: the Roma per 2 (Riva di Traiano), the Duecento Lombardini Cup (Caorle), the Port of Rome Trophy (Ostia), the Lunga Bolina-Intermatica Trophy (Santa Marinella), the Brindisi-Corfù (Brindisi), the Palermo-Montecarlo (Palermo), the Freedom Cup (Rimini) and the Bernetti Trophy (Sistiana).
Gathered at the press conference were representatives from the sail boat clubs involved in the Lombardini Cup circuit, along with a series of famous personalities in Italian sail boating, such as legendary skipper Cino Ricci, and television journalist (and skipper) Giulio Guazzini. They effectively enhanced the conference with stories and anecdotes about this circuit, which has become the leading event of reference for sail boating enthusiasts within only 4 short years. The goal of the Lombardini Cup is above all to promote the most noble aspects of the sport and a passion for the sea and the environment. The Cup has introduced to demonstrate the commitment that Lombardini has consistently maintained in the world of sailing.
